Mountain couples photoshoot in the Italian Dolomites
Today I woul like to show you this beautiful mountain couples photoshoot I did in the Italian Dolomites in South Tyrol. In my opinion, the Dolomites are the most beautiful mountains in Europe. I am happiest when I’m a wedding photographer in the Dolomites.
Adventure Photo Session in Cortina d’Ampezzo
Back to the photoshoot: I took Anna and Philipp, a German couple, on a adventure photo session near Cortina d’Ampezzo. After we met at the parking lot, we had to start hiking. I have never been to the lake Lago di Limides (check out my travel blog for the hike – German only) where we shot most of the images. Having some years of experience in photographing mountain couples, I am good at researching the right place beforehand.
Hiking to the shooting location in the mountains
It took us about an hour until we reached the lake Lago di Limides. Let me tell you: this would be also a perfect spot for your engagement photos in the mountains or even a proposal (ohhh I would be on board).
Because it was fall, there wasn’t as much water in the lake than we expected. It was even already partly frozen. Any way I think it looked great and everything fell into place perfectly.
Couple Photoshoot at Lago di Limides
After we finished at the lake, we continued our little adventure photo session with more hiking. We stopped again for more couples pictures at other spots. The Dolomites are just so beautiful! Together we finished the hike and arrived back at the parking lot some hours later. A perfect day for a perfect couple shoot in the mountains with a lot of adventure!
FAQ – Italian Dolomites, South Tyrol
Are you planning your visit or even your engagement shoot in the Dolomites? I would be happy to photograph you. Let me give you some more details about my favorite place: the Dolomites:
Where are the Dolomites located?
The Dolomites are located in Italy, close to the Austrian border. They are running through the Italian provinces of Belluno, Alto Adige (which is also called South Tyrol), and Trentino.
What mountain range are the Dolomites a part of?
The Dolomites are part of the Northern Italian Alps.
Where to stay in the Dolomites?
A good base for your visit to the Dolomites is Cortina d’Ampezzo or Toblach. Must see places like the Tre Cime di Lavaredo or Pragser Wildsee are nearby as well as a lot of other beautiful hikes.
How many days should we spend in the Dolomites?
For your first visit, I would recommend staying at least 4 to 5 days in the Dolomites.
Where do you fly to get to the Dolomites?
The closest airport is located in Venice (with Venice Treviso and Venice Marco Polo). Also, Innsbruck in Austria, Verona or Trieste might be an option depending on where you are staying.
Do you need a car in the Dolomites?
Yes! It is best to have a car. There is limited public transport and to get to the hiking (or photoshoot) spots you need a car. I can recommend using sunnycars* to book in advance.
Can’t wait to meet you for your Couple Photoshoot or your Adventure Session in the Dolomites!
