The registry office in the town hall in Füssen is a sight to behold. The town of Füssen has also recognized this and advertises with the slogan “Fürstlich heiraten”. As a wedding photographer, I am often in Füssen and am delighted when I am able to accompany a bridal couple at their civil wedding here in the former St. Mang monastery in Füssen’s old town. There are various rooms for civil weddings here. For example, the historic wedding hall or the baroque Kaisersaal. Did you know that it is also possible to hold free wedding ceremonies on the roof terrace of the Festspielhaus? Pretty cool.

But now lets talk about my wedding couple. It was a rainy fall day. They decided to get married just the two of them. The registrar and I were the only witnesses, so to speak. It was a very intimate atmosphere and for me as a photographer this is always something very special. The ceremony took place in the conference room. It seemed a little empty, but the couple only had eyes for each other anyway.

After a emotional wedding ceremony, the three of us walked across the courtyard towards the monastery library. This is part of the museum of the town of Füssen and wedding couples are allowed to use the historic hall for photos. A real gem! Fortunately, there wasn’t much going on and we were able to take photos to our hearts’ content. It was also a great plan B due to the uncertain weather. I think the pictures speak for themselves.
Wedding photography at Forggensee
Anyone who follows me closely here will know that I would be pretty sad if I was in a place with mountains and couldn’t include a mountain in the picture for my wedding couple. The weather was uncertain but we still decided to go to the Forggensee. Despite the light rain and cooler temperature, my bridal couple were brave. On the shore, we captured a few beautiful pictures with mountain views and a view of Neuschwanstein. Even when it’s raining, the Füssen mountain landscape is beautiful!
